Team & Permissions

Invite team members, assign roles, and control who can do what in your workspace.

Inviting team members

  1. Go to Settings → Team.
  2. Click Invite member.
  3. Enter the person's email address.
  4. Select their role (see role descriptions below).
  5. Click Send invite.

The invitee will receive an email with a link to accept the invitation. They will be prompted to create a Salync account if they do not already have one. Once they accept, they appear as an active member in the team list.

Pending invites are shown separately in the team list. You can resend or cancel a pending invite at any time.

Roles

There are four roles in Salync. The workspace creator is automatically assigned the Owner role, which cannot be changed or removed.

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerFull access to everything: products, stock, POs, channels, reports, team management, billing, and workspace settings. Can delete the workspace. Only one owner per workspace.
AdminFull access except billing management, workspace deletion, and transferring ownership. Can invite and remove team members (except the owner). Suitable for senior managers who need full operational control.
EditorCan create and edit products, variants, stock adjustments, suppliers, purchase orders, and channel listings. Cannot manage team members, access billing, or change workspace settings. Suitable for buyers, warehouse managers, and catalogue executives.
ViewerRead-only access across the entire workspace. Can view products, stock, POs, channels, and reports but cannot make any changes. Suitable for external stakeholders, auditors, or team members who only need visibility.

Changing a member's role

Go to Settings → Teamand click the role badge next to the member's name. Select a new role from the dropdown. The change takes effect immediately — the member will see their updated permissions on their next page load.

Only Owners and Admins can change member roles. An Admin cannot upgrade another member to Owner or change the Owner's role.

Removing a team member

Click the menu next to a team member and select Remove from workspace. The member will immediately lose access to the workspace. Their past actions (stock adjustments, PO receipts, etc.) remain in the audit log attributed to their name.

Plan limits on team size

The number of team members you can invite depends on your plan:

  • Starter (free) — 1 member (the workspace owner only). You cannot invite additional members on the Starter plan.
  • Growth (£99/mo) — up to 5 members.
  • Pro (£299/mo) — up to 15 members.

If you try to invite a member beyond your plan's limit, you will be prompted to upgrade. See Billing & Plans for details.
