Vinted has quietly become one of the biggest marketplaces UK sellers can reach — and with Vinted Pro, a serious business channel. But it comes with an inventory problem the other marketplaces don't: most of your stock is one-of-a-kind, which makes selling the same item twice across channels a constant risk. Here's how to run it properly.

In this guide:

  • Vinted Pro — what it is and who can register
  • The Vinted Pro API and its allowlist
  • The single-item stock problem, and why it's unique to resale
  • Cross-listing to eBay, Depop and beyond without double-selling
  • Mixed catalogues: single items alongside multi-stock lines

Vinted Pro: what it is

Vinted Pro officially launched in the UK in October 2024. It's Vinted's programme for professional sellers — sole traders, charities and registered companies — and it turns Vinted from a declutter app into a genuine business channel. Pro sellers get a dedicated storefront page, a "Pro" badge on every listing, and business tools including bulk promotions, advanced statistics and stock management.

The scale behind it is why this matters: more than 400,000 European sellers have gone Pro since the wider programme began in 2023, and second-hand now accounts for over 10% of UK fashion spending and rising. For fashion, accessories and homeware resellers, Vinted is no longer optional.

Registering as a Pro seller

To qualify you need to be a properly registered UK business — a sole trader with a UTR is enough, you don't need a limited company. During sign-up you'll provide your business details and, for companies, your registration number, plus verification documents.

One practical catch: you can't convert an existing standard Vinted account to Pro while you have open orders. Finish outstanding orders and withdraw your balance first, then switch — or sign up fresh via the Vinted Pro page.

The Vinted Pro API — and its allowlist

Here's where Vinted differs sharply from eBay or Amazon. Vinted Pro Integrations — the API that lets you sync a catalogue programmatically — is only available to allowlisted Vinted Pro businesses.Only allowlisted accounts can access the Integrations Portal or generate API tokens.

If you do get access, expect real work: it takes roughly a month to set up, needs someone comfortable with API implementations, and you have to map your product fields to Vinted's own taxonomy. It's built for larger second-hand operations, not casual sellers. For most Pro sellers, catalogue and stock management happens through Vinted's own Pro tools or a cross-listing/inventory tool that has secured integration access — rather than you building against the API directly.

The problem nobody warns you about: single-item stock

Every other marketplace guide assumes you hold multiple units of each product. Resale breaks that assumption. On Vinted, most items are quantity of one — a specific jacket, a single pair of trainers. That changes the inventory maths completely.

With multi-unit stock, an out-of-sync count causes an oversell only occasionally. With single-item stock, every cross-listed item is a double-sale waiting to happen. List one jacket on both Vinted and eBay, it sells on eBay, and unless something removes it from Vinted within seconds, a Vinted buyer purchases a jacket you no longer own. You refund, you apologise, and both platforms note the cancellation.

This is the core operational challenge of selling resale across channels, and it's why cross-listing without real-time delisting is a slow-motion trap — the more you cross-list to boost sales, the more double-sales you set up.

Cross-listing without double-selling

There are two categories of tool, and it's worth knowing which you need:

  • Cross-listing apps (Crosslist, Vendoo, Sidekick and others) are built for resellers with single-item stock. They post one item to several marketplaces and — the important part — auto-delist it from the others when it sells. Vinted support is the key differentiator between them, since not every tool supports it. If your business is purely single-item resale across Vinted, eBay, Depop and Etsy, this is your category.
  • Multi-channel inventory software (like Salync) is built for sellers holding stock quantities, where an item exists once in a central catalogue and its quantity syncs everywhere in real time. This is the right category once you're also selling multi-unit lines — new stock, bundles, your own products — alongside single resale items.

The dividing line is your catalogue. Pure one-of-a-kind resale → a Vinted-supporting cross-lister. A mix of single items and stocked lines → inventory software that treats a quantity of one as just another quantity, and drops it to zero across every channel the moment it sells.

Running mixed catalogues

Many growing resellers end up mixed: some genuine one-offs, plus lines where they hold several units (deadstock bought in bulk, own-brand basics, accessories). That's where a single stock ledger earns its place — a quantity-one item and a quantity-fifty item are handled the same way, both syncing across Vinted, eBay, Depop and your other channels, both protected from overselling.

Salync keeps one catalogue with real-time quantity sync across your channels, so whether an item is your last one or one of fifty, selling it anywhere updates everywhere within seconds. Add barcode scanning and purchase orders for the stocked side of your range, and it covers a mixed resale business end to end. Free for up to 50 SKUs. Frequently asked questions

What is Vinted Pro?

Vinted's business-seller programme, launched in the UK in October 2024. Registered UK businesses (sole traders included) get a storefront, Pro badge, business tools and — if allowlisted — API access.

Does Vinted have an inventory API?

Yes, Vinted Pro Integrations, but only for allowlisted Pro businesses. Setup takes about a month and requires mapping your data to Vinted's taxonomy — it's aimed at larger operations.

How do I avoid selling the same item twice?

Because most Vinted stock is single-item, use a tool that removes an item from every other channel the instant it sells — a Vinted-supporting cross-lister, or inventory software holding one shared stock count.

Is Vinted worth it for business sellers?

Increasingly yes — 400k+ EU Pro sellers since 2023 and rising second-hand demand. The operational challenge is single-item stock across channels, which is solvable with the right sync.

Never sell your last one twice

Salync syncs single-item and stocked lines alike across Vinted, eBay, Depop and more — one sale, updated everywhere.
